Cruise to Xenu~Adventures in Scientology

Tom Cruise 1st to Get Ducati Superbike

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Tom Cruise is the first on the list to get Ducati's newest motorcycle — a $72,500 superbike bristling with titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber technology that can scoot up to 200 mph.

Cruise is scheduled to take delivery of the Desmosedici RR at Beverly Hills Ducati this week. Only 1,500 of the red-and-white Moto GP racing replica motorcycles will be made and Cruise gets the first.

World class Scientologist tells it like it is

Creating Realities?

Could you imagine Tommy parking his Ducati outside a biker bar and walking in through the saloon doors. I wonder how long it would take for his authority be questioned and what would happen to him and that crotch rocket? His first profound revelation would probably be that he shouldn't be talking about creating realities when he should be dealing with realities in the real world...G:

The word Scientology literally means "the study of truth." It comes from the Latin word "scio" meaning "knowing in the fullest sense of the word" and the Greek word "logos" meaning "study of."

Xenu: The Core Belief of Scientology?

After achieving the State of Clear, Scientologists proceed to the more advanced spiritual levels within Scientology, called the OT or Operating Thetan Levels. (Operating Thetan is a Scientology term for a spiritual being that can exist independently of the material universe - similar to the transcendental Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism).

The upper spiritual levels in Scientology are confidential. It is believed that individuals who run the advanced technological processes prematurely (without being spiritually and ethically prepared) are at risk from mental and spiritual damage. Such is the reason the Church of Scientology goes to great efforts to maintain their confidentiality and is often involved in litigation with critics who publish them without permission.

America's Leading Collapse Expert Thought South Tower Was Brought Down With Explosives

Building collapse expert Ray Downey suspected Bombs

Hat tip to 911blogger

Deputy Chief Raymond M. Downey, Commanding Officer of the Special Operations Command (SOC), died in the line of duty, while helping others escape from the fire and collapse scene of the twin towers at the World Trade Center on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

Fire Chief Mike Antonucci, Downey's best friend, said that Downey's hobby was "To study building collapses, what affected the engineering of buildings, how they [would] weaken and how he could respond and stay safe."

The weight of Downey's eyewitness testimony and his conclusion that bombs brought down the south tower is of massive significance as we approach the anniversary of 9/11, a date of mourning for Downey's family due to the fact that he was tragically killed later that day following the collapse of the north tower as he tried to help others escape.

Downey's testimony is added to the assertions of hundreds of leading academics, scientists, former government and military officials and researchers, who have all questioned the impossible collapse of both the twin towers and WTC 7, and singled out incendiary or explosive devices as the only means by which the structures could have fell in the manner they did.

Downey was a highly respected figure, having commanded rescue operations at both the 1993 WTC bombing and the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. His colleagues simply referred to him as "God" or "The Master of Disaster".

According to a World Trade Center Task Force interview with FDNY' Chaplain Father John Delendick, immediately after the collapse of the south tower at 9:59am, Delendick met with Downey below the nearby World Financial Center and asked him if jet fuel had brought about the bizarre and sudden implosion of the building. According to Delendick, Downey "said at that point he thought there were bombs up there because it was too even."

From The Task Force Interview

Page 5 and 6... Interview with J. Delendick

I remember asking Downey was it the jet fuel that blew up. He said at that point he thought there were bombs up there because it was too even. As we've since learned, it was the jet fuel that was dropping down that caused all this. But he said it was too even.

Question: Symetrical?

Answer: So his original thought was he thought it was a bomb up there.

Large 911 Rat Exposed in Florida

Giuliani's worst nightmare

~VIDEO~

January 28, 2008 11:44 PM

Jim Riches, Sally Regenhard, and Rosaleen Tallon are the last people Rudy Giuliani wants in Florida as he launches a last-ditch effort to save his presidential bid, and his slowly waning image as the hero of 9/11. If he doesn't gain some traction in the Sunshine State, his bid for the White House is over. And critics like these are threatening his already slim chances with their assertion that it's Rudy whose campaign is actually based on a fairy tale.

Riches, Regenhard, and Tallon are survivors of true 9/11 heroes - ordinary New Yorkers whose loved ones were members of the New York City Fire Department. Their relatives rushed to the attack site and plunged into the buildings without any thought of their own safety. Along with hundreds of other firefighters, they were likely trapped and killed in the buildings' collapse - something the survivors say didn't need to happen. For these three, "America's mayor" is a fraud, responsible in large part for the deaths of the heroes whose courage he now exploits.

Office of Special Counsel chief says his investigation into alleged politicization of the attorney general's agency has been repeatedly 'impeded.'

29 Jan 2008

The government agency that enforces one of the principal laws aimed at keeping politics out of the civil service has accused the Justice Department of blocking its investigation into alleged politicizing of the department under former Atty. Gen. Alberto R. Gonzales.

Scott J. Bloch, head of the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, wrote Atty. Gen. Michael B. Mukasey last week that the department had repeatedly "impeded" his investigation by refusing to share documents and provide answers to written questions, according to a copy of Bloch's letter obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

The Justice Department wants Bloch to wait until its own internal investigation is completed. A department official signaled recently that the investigation is examining the possibility of criminal charges.

But that, the regulator wrote, could take until the last months of the Bush administration, "when there is little hope of any corrective measures or discipline possible" being taken by his office.

Japanese Councilor (Senator) Mr. Yukihisa Fujita Questions the Official US 911 Story

< Thanks to:

Yumi Kikuchi’s Blog and Podcast

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

It was historical and exciting to watch 911 truth being questioned at the Japanese Diet (Parliament) on Jan 10, 2008. For the first time in Japan serious questions were first asked as to the legitimacy of Japans support for the US 'War On Terror'. The proceedings were aired live on NHK TV (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). See the full session below on YouTube, with English subtitles... A transcript can be read here.

Though the session was broadcast live on NHK TV, no newspaper or TV new program on that day or in the days following has mentioned it. Only people who happened to be watching TV at the time it was broadcast know of it, and that, of course, is not so many people.

It is quite obvious that the media here is Japan is controlled by powers that do not want this topic to be brought to the attention of the population in general.

Corporate Media is targeting Kukinich's senate seat.

I heard Dennis being interviewed on Air America KPOJ 620 AM radio this morning in the wee hours. Finally...some media coverage where he can say why he dropped out. It was because of the alliance of corporate interests and the corporate media and that he was fighting for his life to keep his seat in the senate, which our corporate government is trying to occupy with one of their own.

In a speech delivered in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio Congressman and Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich delivered an impassioned speech that said, in part:

"I deeply and sincerely believe that we fought the good fight -- in large part because of the support from all of you here and from hundreds of thousands of people just like you all across this country. I stood strong because you gave me strength. I spoke out because your voices needed and deserved to be heard. And I told the truth, no matter how unpopular or inconvenient, because, no matter how long it takes, the truth really will set us free.

Oregon Unites against LNG Ports

February 6 Rally in Salem: NO LNG in Oregon!

Oregon must come together on February 6 to let Governor Kulongoski and your state representatives know that we are UNITED AGAINST LNG!

There are 3 LNG projects proposed for the Oregon coast.

· If even one should get built, it will increase Oregon's
greenhouse gas emissions by millions of tons per year.

· These projects will cost billions, money that could be spent on clean, renewable energy.

· The terminals and pipelines linking them to California will endanger communities, cross and condemn hundreds of miles of land, and destroy habitat.

· LNG is not needed in Oregon; even the Governor admits that
most of the gas is going out of state.

· Ask yourself: Why is Oregon being chosen for LNG that will go
to California?

LNG Woes in Boston

Liquefied natural gas tankers traveling through Boston Harbor carry volatile cargo and are terrorists targets. Sixty times a year, these floating bombs steam past thousands of homes and 500,000 residents who are in constant danger. We want these dangerous ships out of Boston Harbor.

Stimulus Deal: the Bane of Bipartisanship

Tom Paine

By Robert Borosage

January 25th, 2008

Barbara Ehrenreich memorably called the talk about the stimulus "clitoral economics." And that was before we got screwed.

The stimulus deal just announced is being praised more for its existence than its content. Much lamented partisan bickering was overcome; bipartisan cooperation that got it done. With Wall Street bankers in panic, better something than nothing. So the parties came together and split the difference and created an agreement (which still has to survive the minefield called the U.S. Senate).

It's worth taking a look under the hood. Despite approval ratings rivaling those of Idi Amin, President Bush set the terms: Tax cuts only. No spending on public works (that is, nothing for stuff we need that actually puts people to work). No increase in food stamps. No strengthening of our tattered unemployment system. (That is, no money to those who we know will spend it on basic needs). Must include a big package of business tax breaks (tax write-offs for investments that would be made anyway, according to any reputable economic study). No money for states that are about to be forced to cut billions to balance their budgets, largely by cutting education and Medicaid spending and deferring basic infrastructure spending. (Remember the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis or the sewage valve that shut down lower Manhattan?)

Democrats, despite having the majority in both Houses, accepted those terms. They demanded, sensibly enough, that the tax cuts include 45 million in low-income families that the president would have excluded. They demanded the president take extending his tax cuts beyond 2010 off the table. They got some help for imperiled homeowners through the Federal Housing Authority and Fannie Mae.

So only $40 billion of the $150 billion package gets squandered on business tax boondoggles. The rebates — what Jesse Jackson calls Wal-Mart gift certificates — will get handed out by August at best. It might help a bit, although if the economy is still in bad shape in August, people are more likely to be paying down credit-card debt than buying a new TV made in China.

Cheney goes a Stumpin’ for Telecom Immunity!

By: John Amato @ 6:38 AM - PST

Cheney gets his stump on for the Telecoms that broke the law and helped BushCo implement the warrantless wiretapping program.

Cheney:…for those who assist the government in tracking terrorists should not be punished with lawsuits. We’re asking Congress to update FISA and especially to extend this protection to communications providers alleged to have given such assistance anytime after Sept., 11th 2001. This is an important consideration because some providers are facing dozens of lawsuits right now. Why? Because they are believed to have aided the US government in the effort to intercept international communications about al-Qaeda related individuals.

Do Israeli's really own 10% of the moon?

Israelis blast past others in bid to own moon

Jan 4, 2007

Israelis own 10 percent of the privately owned area on the moon, according to Tom Wegner, a spokesman for Crazyshop, a company that sells plots of moon land to private individuals in Israel.

About 10,000 Israelis have purchased moon property since it became available in 2000. Of the 10 million acres sold worldwide, 1 million are owned by residents of Israel, Wegner said Wednesday.

"Some Israelis believe that buying land on the moon is an original gift and a great investment that their grandchildren might benefit from," he told The Jerusalem Post.

Israeli moon property sales rose dramatically last month following NASA's announcement on December 5 that it would establish an "international base camp" on one of the moon's poles, landing astronauts in 2020 - and setting up a permanent colony four years later.

Although the sales also increased in the United States, nowhere in the world were they as high as in Israel. While about 9,000 Israelis purchased plots from 2000 until December's announcement, a full 1,000 did so over the last month, Wegman said. "This trend will continue to increase in Israel; it is a snowball effect," he said.

Inheritance and Sale of "Extraterrestrial Real Estate"

8-10 March 2001, "Lunar Real Estate: Buyer, Beware!", Paper presented at the First Convention of Lunar Explorers, Palais de la Découverte, Paris, 8-10 March 2001.. Also downloadable from http://www.spacefuture.com/archive/lunar_real_estate_buyer_beware.shtml

During the past decade, mass-media has reported about individuals and companies that have claimed ownership of various celestial bodies and, in most of the cases, subsequently offered them for sale to the public. While the most publicized "extraterrestrial real estate" company is Dennis Hope's Lunar Embassy, lunar sales date back to 1955, when Robert R. Coles, a former chairman of New York's "Hayden Planetarium", incorporated and started selling lots on the moon for one dollar per acre - because no one else had claimed the Moon1. In January 1962, prior to the launching of "Ranger 3", the first US lunar probe, an individual in one of the British dominions sent President Eisenhower a telegram, informing him that he filed claim to a certain lunar area and that he intended to hold the United States responsible for any damage the probe would cause to his property2. The affair did not develop any further, maybe because Ranger 3 missed the Moon by 36,793 kilometres3. In 1969, soon after Apollo 11 mission, Brazilian police arrested a man for selling lunar lots priced at $25 each. In his pro domo plea, the salesman said he had sold the first lots to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and that they went to the Moon to inspect their properties4.

Eleven years later, Dennis Hope from Rio Vista, California, founded the first "extraterrestrial estate" agency, the Lunar Embassy. In 1980, unaware of the previous affairs and thus believing that the Moon had not been previously claimed by anybody, and convinced that the 1967 Outer Space Treaty prohibition of national appropriation in outer space would not apply to individuals, Hope registered at the federal office of his county a claim over the Moon and a "lunar constitution"5, subsequently copyrighting his work with the US Copyright registry office. He also sent notifications of his claim to the USSR and US governments and to the UN, and he did not receive any answer6. Convinced of the legality of his claim, Hope divided the visible side of the Moon in 3 million parcels7 that he began selling in supermarkets and later on the internet8. Hope has extended his extraterrestrial real estate business to properties on Mars, Venus and Io. He sells an extraterrestrial parcel at the price of $15.99 plus $10 postage and packing, and $1.16 for 'lunar tax'. By June 2000, there were more than 60,000 people holding real estate certificates from the Lunar Embassy9, including Hollywood celebrities like Tom Cruise and Harisson Ford and, apparently, two former US presidents - Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter10.

Hope is not the only one in the extraterrestrial real estate business. A number of "copycat companies" have appeared - at least six by August 199711, such as the Universal Lunarian Society, that sells parcels on the lunar crater Copernicus for US$50 an acre12, Space Pioneers - that claimed in April 1992 "all the planets in the Milky Way Galaxy"13 and subsequently begun to sell deeds to parcels on Mars priced at US$ 29.95 an acre14, and the Martian Consulate that handsomely states that "Giving a land claim on Mars is truly a unique way to say 'I Love You', 'Happy Birthday', ... or even 'Thank You'"15.

Kucinich Wins Debate Poll, ABC Covers Up Results

Mother Jone's 08/22/07

Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich's supporters (and, according to his website, even some non-supporters) are demanding that ABC explain its actions of the last few days.

On Monday afternoon, Congressman Kucinich took a significant lead in the ABC online poll: Who won the Democratic debate? About the time that he took that lead, ABC removed the poll from its prominent position on the ABC website. Then a new poll suddenly went up, "Who is winning the Democratic debate?"

Those events could be seen as technical glitches, but there was more to come. Kucinich took the lead in the second poll, also, and that poll, too, was dropped. ABC also "forgot" to announce the results (Kucinich tied with Sen. Hillary Clinton as the winner), and news about the poll is nowhere to be seen on the ABC website. Kucinich was also cut out of a group photo of all the candidates in the debate.

It's a wonder viewers were even able to vote for Kucinich in the poll. He was not permitted to answer a question from debate moderator George Stephanopoulos until the debate had been under way for half an hour.

So far, the network has failed to respond to questions about these events.

We Are Change NYC Confronts Norman Podhoretz

‘Bomb Iran’ Podhoretz: War Would ‘Unleash A Wave’ Of Global Anti-Americanism

Think Progress 6/20/2007

The current issue of Commentary magazine — “widely regarded as the leading outlet for neoconservative writing” — features a controversial cover story by Norman Podhoretz titled “The Case For Bombing Iran.”

Podhoretz’s article appeals to President Bush, “a man who knows evil when he sees it” and who has been “battered more mercilessly and with less justification than any other in living memory,” to carry out military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. U.S. diplomats are now pointing to the essay to pressure foreign diplomats to increase pressure on Iran.

In a new interview, Podhoretz was asked to comment on the possible fallout of the military strikes he advocates. “Well, if we were to bomb the Iranians as I hope and pray we will,” Podhoretz says, “we’ll unleash a wave of anti-Americanism all over the world that will make the anti-Americanism we’ve experienced so far look like a lovefest.”

Chess legend Bobby Fisher dies in Iceland

Former chess champion Bobby Fischer has died at 64

LA Times 9:45 AM PST, January 18, 2008

REYKJAVIK, Iceland -- Bobby Fischer, the reclusive chess genius who became a Cold War hero by dethroning the Soviet world champion in 1972 and later renounced his American citizenship, has died. He was 64.

Fisher died of kidney failure Thursday in a Reykjavik hospital after a long illness, his spokesman, Gardar Sverrisson, said today.

Born in Chicago and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., Fischer faced criminal charges in the United States for playing a 1992 rematch against Boris Spassky in Yugoslavia in defiance of international sanctions. In 2005, he moved to Iceland, a chess-mad nation and site of his greatest triumph.

As a champion, he used his eccentricities to unsettle opponents, but Fischer's reputation as a genius of chess was soon eclipsed, in the eyes of many, by his idiosyncrasies.

"Chess is war on a board," he once said. "The object is to crush the other man's mind."

Fischer vanished after the 1992 match and occasionally re-emerged to give interviews on a radio station in the Philippines. During one interview, Fischer praised the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, saying America should be "wiped out," and described Jews as "thieving, lying bastards."

Garry Kasparov, the former world chess champion from Russia, said Fischer's ascent in the chess world in the 1960s and his promotion of chess worldwide was "a revolutionary breakthrough" for the game.

"The tragedy is that he left this world too early, and his extravagant life and scandalous statements did not contribute to the popularity of chess," Kasparov told The Associated Press.

Bobby Fisher was a rebel and like Johnny Yuma he roamed through the West. He became a political embarressment to Poppa Bush, because he didn't take orders from the NWO.
His role in making the US look good by deafeating the Russians at chess made him a political target for playing a chess game in Yugoslavia, a country that the U$ didn't approve of. His bank in Switzerland at the same time told him that they would release all of his money which would mean that the U$ could sieze it, while in Los Angeles all of his stuff in storage was siezed. He was outspoken on the US government, but he certainly had just cause for disliking the Bu$hes...G:

PPP submits petition for UN probe in Bhutto's killing

16 Jan 2008, 1430 hrs IST,PTI

ISLAMABAD: Slain former premier Benazir Bhutto's party on Wednesday said it had submitted a petition to the United Nations seeking an investigation into her assassination after the Pakistan government refused to forward the request to the world body.

The Pakistan People's Party simultaneously launched an initiative to lobby governments around the world to back its demand for a UN-led inquiry. A delegation led by Bhutto's security advisor Rehman Malik travelled to Norway to explain the need for an international investigation to trace those responsible for her killing.

"The PPP has a secretariat in New York through which the petition has been sent to the UN," PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar said.

"We will also approach governments around the world to explain our demand for the UN-led inquiry and to seek support for it," he said.

Bhutto murder blamed on Pakistan agents

Scotland on Sunday
Dec. 30, 2007

Pakistani policemen stand alert beside a poster of assassinated former premier Benazir Bhutto during a funeral ceremony in abstentia for Bhutto in Rawalpindi yesterday.

By Richard Elias and Jeremy Watson

FACTIONS within the Pakistan intelligence service might have been behind the assassination of the country's opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, sources within MI5 told Scotland on Sunday last night.
Pakistan continues to teeter on the brink following Bhutto's death on Thursday as she left a rally for an election in which she was expected to become prime minister. The government has tried to blame militant groups linked to the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, which saw Bhutto's rise to power as a threat.

But security sources in the UK say pro-Taliban factions in Pakistan's feared Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency may have been behind the attack on the charismatic politician, who returned to her homeland from exile only two months ago to fight the election.

Bhutto, 54, blamed rogue elements in the ISI for a suicide bombing that killed 140 people at a rally shortly after her return in October. There were reports last night that just weeks ago, she had sent UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband a private e-mail naming three senior members of government who, she said, wanted her dead.

Kucinich's "Space Preservation Act " ignored by Bu$hco

The Space Preservation Act of 2001 (HR 2977) was introduced by Dennis Kucinich on Oct. 2 2001. It called for prohibiting the basing of weapons in space by the United States, and to require the President to take action to adopt and implement a world treaty banning space-based weapons.

This included....

Inflicting death or injury on, or damaging or destroying, a person (or the biological life, bodily health, mental health, or physical and economic well-being of a person through the use of land-based, sea-based, or space-based systems using radiation, electromagnetic, psychotronic, sonic, laser, or other energies directed at individual persons or targeted populations for the purpose of information war, mood management, or mind control of such persons or populations.

However this did not pass, but a new bill was introduced with major changes which omited that part, along with many other changes. This was HR 3616 which was not passed either, in fact there were four incarnations of this bill and none of them have passed to date...Why?

Israel to get "smarter" U.S.-made bombs than Saudis

By Dan Williams Sun Jan 13, 9:11 AM ET

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The United States has agreed in principle to provide Israel with better "smart bombs" than those it plans to sell Saudi Arabia under a regional defense package, senior Israeli security sources said on Sunday.

Keen to bolster Middle East allies against an ascendant Iran, the Bush administration last year proposed supplying Gulf Arab states with some $20 billion in new weapons, including Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) bomb kits for the Saudis.

The plan has angered Israel's backers in Washington, who say the JDAMs, which give satellite guidance for bombs, may one day be used against the Jewish state or at least blunt its power to deter potential foes. Israel has had JDAMs since 1990 and has used them extensively in a 2006 offensive in Lebanon.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's government dropped its objections to the proposed Saudi deal in July after securing U.S. military aid grants worth $30 billion over the next decade.

Two Israeli security sources said the United States further mollified the Olmert government with an "understanding in principle" that future JDAM sales to Israel would include advanced technologies not on offer to Saudi Arabia.

White House Times Arms Sale, Bush Trip

Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:31 AM EST

Matthew Lee, AP Writer

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration will notify Congress on Monday of its intent to sell $20 billion in weapons, including precision-guided bombs, to Saudi Arabia, moving up the announcement to coincide with the president's arrival in Riyadh, The Associated Press has learned.

Despite concern about the deal from some lawmakers, the State Department, which last month said it would delay the notification until after Congress comes back into session, will announce the proposed sale on Jan. 14, a day before the House returns to work and more than a week before senators return to Washington, said a senior official.

NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD BILL PASSES SENATE WITHOUT DEBATE

By A. Kronstadt

[July 2007]

One of the basic freedom issues that has united both left and right in the struggle against expanding governmental authority has been that of the National ID Card. Many European nations, particularly those with authoritarian histories such as Germany and the ex-communist bloc countries, have long required each citizen to carry some standardized national identification document that must be presented to the police on demand. We are all familiar with the motion picture stereotype of the Nazi or Soviet officer walking up to people and saying "your papers, please," but in the United States, people have traditionally regarded this as something we can all do without. We Americans definitely do not like the idea of needing something like a driver's license just to walk on the street, nor do we want cops asking us for a passport when we are traveling around our own country. Indeed, we are told that the Republicans and conservatives are the ones most vehemently opposed to this ultimate symbol of Big Government.

A Whistleblower’s Chronicle of Hillary Clinton’s Misconduct

This is the video that's been buzzing around the blogs for the past few months, becoming one of the most viewed on Google Video. It shows the Peter Paul side of the issue, which involves allegations that Hillary Clinton has committed numerous federal election law violations, has lied about them to cover them up, all culminating in what might be felonious conduct on her part. Bu$hco was monitering telecommunications before 911

When Bu$hco came into power in 2001 there were already intelligence gathering telecommunications snooping in place. It was called Echelon whose existence had only recently been acknowledged by US officials, and was capable of hoovering up millions of phone calls, faxes and emails a minute. But this was not enough for Bu$hco and agency officials said that the NSA must become a “powerful, permanent presence” on the commercial communications networks, a goal they admitted would raise legal and privacy issues.

In February 2001 ’Project Groundbreaker’ was set Up to monitor domestic phone communications and in October 2001 the NSA created a massive data base of US citizen's phone calls.

~G:~
In todays news Justice's Inspector General Glenn Fine, right, said more than half of about 1,000 FBI phone bills reviewed were not paid on time and resulted in wiretaps being cut. The FBI, led by Robert S. Mueller III, said no evidence was lost.

Recently the Senate intelligence committee voted 10 to 9 along party lines to approve a bill that added new restrictions on government surveillance powers. But this did not include language addressing the immunity issue, which would mean that the telecommunications companies would have to testify in court.

The committee defeated in a 12 to 7 vote a proposal from Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) that would have precluded legal protections for telecom companies. Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Herb Kohl (Wis.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.) joined nine Republicans in voting against the proposal.

There is sure a lot of difference between Feingold and Feinstein. In San Francisco some folks are calling Dianne Feinstein a Neocon in drag.

Bu$h Crosses the Rubicon

Bu$h in his first visit ever to Palistinian territory couldn't travel by helicopter today because of fog, so traveled to Ramallah by car with his huge entourage of limo's and armoured vans which of course presented no problems as he sped through the check point at the border.

Bush met separately with Olmert and Abbas in what appears to be nothing but typical photo-ops. The real action was at the Annapolis Conference at the U.S. Naval Academy November 27, 2007 in Annapolis, Maryland. With diplomats from Syria, Saudi Arabia and many other Middle Eastern countries in attendance The one-day conference was the Bush administration's first attempt since taking office in 2001 at brokering a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian people.

The road to Arab-Israeli peace could take yet another detour since Israel announced plans to seek funding for the expansion of two Jewish settlements in areas Palestinians hope to claim for a future state. According to its 2008 budget proposal, Israel plans to build 500 apartments in a fiercely contested part of East Jerusalem and another 240 in Maale Adumim, its largest West Bank settlement and one it intends to keep under any long-term peace agreement. Israel also turned down calls for a Gaza cease-fire, refusing to negotiate directly with Hamas, which controls the territory.

Ehud Olmert on Bu$h: "A giant friend of ours"

By Tobias Buck in Jerusalem and Daniel Dombey in Washington
updated 11:41 p.m. PT, Mon., Jan. 7, 2008

George W. Bush arrives in Israel on Wednesday in the twilight of his presidency, with his international clout diminished by the war in Iraq and his popular support eroded both at home and abroad.

In Israel, however, the US president will be greeted with nothing but adulation and gratitude. From the prime minister downwards, Israelis continue to hold Mr Bush in high esteem, thanks to his unwavering support for the country in its struggle with Arab neighbours and militant Palestinian forces.

More Bu$hlite

"Bush is very popular. Israelis really appreciate Bush's approach and his very clear support for Israel," says Gabriel Sheffer, a professor of political sciences at Jerusalem's Hebrew University.

In an interview last week, Ehud Olmert, Israeli prime minister, called Mr Bush "a giant friend of ours. He's not doing a single thing that I don't agree to. He doesn't support anything that I oppose. He doesn't say a thing that he thinks will make life harder for Israel."

Itamar Rabinovich, a former Israeli ambassador to the US, says: "It is a very good relationship - predicated on a joint vision of the Middle East arena and on a very good personal relationship between the prime minister and the president.

"But it is not a perfect relationship," he says, with the recent US intelligence report on Iran's nuclear programme - which held that Iran abandoned covert efforts to build nuclear weapons in 2003 - creating "confusion and puzzlement in Israel regarding the direction of US policy".

US Supreme Court will rule on voter ID

Well, this is one baby step for sheeplekind if the Supreme Court rules against this ridiculous law. It sure doesn't make any sense to require a drivers license or an official ID to be able to vote, but that was one of the things that Bu$hco was implementing to cast out votes in previous elections. I hope this will be a precedent toward some legal action on the use of voting machines. It looks to me that there was tampering with the vote in the New Hampshire primaries, but the MSM is going out of their way to explain why the polls were wrong. A bitter pill to swallow after seeing seven years of this country being manipulated, lied to, robbed, shamed, and misled by a cabal of corporate oriented Neocons

US Supreme Court to Rule on Voter Rights
By Andrew Baroch
Washington
09 January 2008

An American citizen's right to vote is enshrined in the Constitution, but there have been efforts to thwart that right. Until the Supreme Court declared poll taxes and literacy tests unconstitutional, they once prevented many people from voting, especially those who were poor or minority citizens.

Today the justices heard arguments about a state law that requires individuals to present a specific type of identification to be able to vote. VOA's Andrew Baroch reports, the case has nationwide repercussions, since the high court is expected to rule several months before the 2008 U.S. Presidential election.

The United States Supreme Court takes up voter ID law

At issue is a law enacted three years ago by the Indiana legislature that many opponents consider restricts voters' rights. Under the law, a voter has to present a government-issued photo identification card at a polling place (such as a driver's license or a passport) to be eligible to cast a ballot. Without it, the voter is given a provisional ballot, which will not be counted unless he or she returns with acceptable proof of identity. Other states' polling places accept documents of identification like utility bills or voters' sworn affidavits. But nearly 30 state legislatures are considering statutes like Indiana's, so the Court's ruling on this case will have a nationwide impact.

Despite low expectations for trip, president seeks momentum for talks

President Bu$h in his own words

TEL AVIV, Israel - President Bush, seeking to pull Israel and the Palestinians toward serious negotiations, said Wednesday he has high hopes that a Mideast peace pact can be achieved before he leaves office next year, despite ongoing land squabbles and continuing violence.

"I come as an optimistic person and a realistic person — realistic in my understanding that it's vital for the world to fight terrorists, to confront those who would murder the innocent to achieve political objectives," Bush said as he began his first presidential visit to Israel.

The Commander in Chief, Educator, and Decider simplifies the complex and seemingly impossible problems that are faced today. He sure knows how to make the 20%'ers feel better about the world situation...G:

Is The U.S. using new experimental "Tactical High Energy Laser" weapons in Iraq?

“Star Wars in Iraq” is a new investigative report by Maurizio Torrealta and Sigfrido Ranucci.

TRANSCRIPT

St by Majid Al Ghezali They used incredible weapons

Patrick Dillon Experimental weapons?

Majid Al Ghezali Yes… Yes, I think. They shoot the bus. We saw the bus like a cloth, like a wet cloth. It seemed like a Volkswagen, a big bus like a Volkswagen.

This testimony was reported to American filmmaker Patrick Dillon a few weeks after the battle for the airport. The person interviewed, Majid al Ghezali, is a well-known and respected man in Baghdad, who is the first violinist in the city orchestra.
In addition to describing the battle, Majid al Ghezali wanted to show Patrick Dillon the site near the airport where this mysterious weapon was used, along with the traces of fused metal still visible, and the irregularly sized ditches where the cadavers were buried before they were exhumed.
We sought out Majid al Ghezali to hear more details of his story. We met up with him in Amman and he pointed out some inexplicable peculiarities on the bodies of the victims of the battle for the airport.

Majid Al Ghezali Just the head was burnt. In the other parts of the body there wasn’t anything.

Al Ghezali reported that he had seen three passengers in a car, all dead, with their faces and teeth burnt, their clothes intact, and no sign of projectiles.

Majid Al Ghezali There wasn’t any bullet. I saw their teeth, just the teeth, and they had no eyes, all of them, there was nothing on their bodies.

There were other inexplicable aspects: the terrain where the battle took place was dug up by the American military and replaced with other fresh earth; the bodies that were not hit by projectiles had shrunk to just slightly more than one meter in height.

Majid Al Ghezali Except the ones killed by the bullets, most of them became very small. I mean… like that… Something like that.

When we asked Majid what weapon he imagined had been used, he said that he had reached the conclusion that it must have been a laser weapon.

Senator Says He Would Not Retreat From a Campaign in Which Change Was the Focus

By Dan Balz and Chris Cillizza

NASHUA, N.H. -- Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) asserted today that he could win a generational-focused November election campaign against Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on the strength of his record combating special interests and his support for President Bush's troop surge strategy in Iraq.

"I've made the most significant change that you could make -- or certainly played a key role in it -- and that is the new strategy in Iraq," he said. "We went from failure with the old strategy and we have the new strategy and we're saving American lives. I can't think of better change, frankly, or more important than saving American lives."

The REAL Reason Bush and Cheney Will Not Be Impeached

Indybay

by Dr. Peter Stern Thursday Jan 3rd, 2008

Okay, folks, you can stop scratching your heads and wringing your hands in bewilderment. Here's the REAL reason there will be no impeachment proceedings against any of the administration:

Apparently, it's more than the GOP who do not what their administration impeached. It's also the liberal "commie-pinkos" who do not want to pursue impeachment. Those such as: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and others.

So, why isn't our government pursuing the impeachment process?

Okay, enough of the ongoing dismay and consternation by most of the American people. Exactly why isn't there more of a "push" for action against the current administration?

I have been considering many logical reasons, but I continue to come back to the most reality-based issue.

The reason most of our Congress does NOT want to pursue any action against the president and administration is because it would create a deadly political and economic tsunami that would encircle many more individuals and organizations than merely Bush and Cheney.

"Fingering" the administration would also mean the public identification, humiliation and legal actions against many wealthy individuals, corporations and even governments throughout the world.

Look, let's face it. Our elected officials are NOT going to do anything that will impede the ongoing wealthy campaign contributions and perks they receive and going after Bush and his administration most assuredly would open more "war wounds" that are NOT in the best interests of our legislators.

Wealthy big business now manages and operates this nation.

Bill Moyers: On the Iowa caucus

    Interview with Kathleen Hall Jamieson

    Bill Moyers

All of a sudden, the political landscape has changed. As only an Iowa farmer would understand, the plow has broken new ground. But in presidential politics a reality check is always in order. Keep in mind that only twice since 1972 have winners of contested Iowa caucuses gone on to win the White House. The total turnout for the caucuses in Iowa was less than 350,000 people in a state of three million. Rarely are so few heard so loudly by so many through the megaphone of the media.

For some analysis, we'll talk to two men who've been running for president and have nothing to lose by speaking their mind and from one of the country's foremost analysts of the co-dependency that exists between the press and the politicians.

Kucinich: I think this is going to be a serious test of the Democratic Party. We were put in power because people expected a new direction in Iraq. It goes without saying that they expect greater transparency and oversight, but they also expect us to do something to bring the troops home. Now, if Congress goes ahead under Democratic leadership and votes to approve what some are now estimating as an additional $160 billion for the war in Iraq, bringing the total for the fiscal year to $230 billion, the Democratic Congress will have bought George Bushs war. Now, who would buy a used war from this administration?

Bill Moyers talks with Congressman Dennis Kucinich

BILL MOYERS: Earlier in the broadcast you heard Kathleen Hall Jamieson say the country loses when contrarian voices are excluded from the political debate. Well, if you were watching the presidential debate in Iowa before Christmas, you would be forgiven for thinking that one of the most persistent and prophetic insurgent voices among the Democrats had dropped out of the race.

Ron Paul: "Article 1, Section 8 gives me zero amount of authority to do anything about public education," says Paul on a recent weekday. He's seated in his congressional office near a sign than says, "DON'T STEAL; THE GOVERNMENT HATES COMPETITION . "

    Hollywood Politics

I guess it all started with Ronnie Raygun when he became governor of California and later President of the United States. A Hollywood idol who became famous on the movie screen and pursued his political career on his good looks and contacts with the money and power of Corporate Government. Now we have folks like Fred Thompson, an aging star of television and movies, running for president. His contacts with money and power and the glitz of Hollywood is epitomized by some of his supporters. Volunteer Roberta Allen, from San Jose, Calif., wears American flag contact lenses as she waits for people to sign a list seeing if they are caucusing for Republican Presidential hopeful former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, during a campaign stop in West Des Moines, Iowa.

On the Republican side, Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas who was barely a blip on the national scene just two months ago, defeated Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, delivering a serious setback to Mr. Romney’s high-spending campaign and putting pressure on Mr. Romney to win in New Hampshire next Tuesday.
Mr. Huckabee, a Baptist minister, was carried in large part by evangelical voters, who helped him withstand extensive spending by Mr. Romney on television advertising and a get-out-the-vote effort. In his victory speech Mr. & Mrs.Chuck Norris stood directly behind him, as Chuck flashed his beautiful dentures at the audience.

    Bu$hco's Ideologies A historical deja'vu

Creeping Fascism: Lessons From the Past

December 28, 2007 by Ray McGovern

"There are few things as odd as the calm, superior indifference with which I and those like me watched the beginnings of the Nazi revolution in Germany, as if from a box at the theater...Perhaps the only comparably odd thing is the way that now, years later...."

These are the words of Sebastian Haffner (pen name for Raimund Pretzel), who as a young lawyer in Berlin during the 1930s experienced the Nazi takeover and wrote a first-hand account. His children found the manuscript when he died in 1999 and published it the following year as Geschichte eines Deutschen (The Story of a German). The book became an immediate bestseller and has been translated into 20 languages – in English as Defying Hitler.

I recently learned from his daughter Sarah, an artist in Berlin, that today is the 100th anniversary of Haffner's birth. She had seen an earlier article in which I quoted her father and emailed to ask me to "write some more about the book and the comparison to Bush's America...this is almost unbelievable."

More about Haffner below. Let's set the stage first by recapping some of what has been going on that may have resonance for readers familiar with the Nazi ascendancy, noting how "odd" it is that the frontal attack on our Constitutional rights is met with such "calm, superior indifference."

    Goebbels Would be Proud

It has been two years since top New York Times officials decided to let the rest of us in on the fact that the George W. Bush administration had been eavesdropping on American citizens without the court warrants required by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) of 1978. The Times had learned of this well before the election in 2004 and acquiesced to White House entreaties to suppress the damaging information.

In late fall 2005 when Times correspondent James Risen's book, State of War: the Secret History of the CIA and the Bush Administration, revealing the warrantless eavesdropping was being printed, Times publisher, Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., recognized that he could procrastinate no longer. It would simply be too embarrassing to have Risen's book on the street, with Sulzberger and his associates pretending that this explosive eavesdropping story did not fit Adolph Ochs' trademark criterion: "All The News That's Fit To Print." (The Times' own ombudsman, Public Editor Byron Calame, branded the newspaper's explanation for the long delay in publishing this story "woefully inadequate.")

When Sulzberger told his friends in the White House that he could no longer hold off on publishing in the newspaper, he was summoned to the Oval Office for a counseling session with the president on Dec. 5, 2005. Bush tried in vain to talk him out of putting the story in the Times. The truth would come out; part of it, at least.

Scotland Yard to help probe Bhutto assassination

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said Wednesday that British investigators are heading to Pakistan to help clear up the confusion surrounding Thursday's assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

"I am very thankful to [British] Prime Minister Gordon Brown that when I made this request he accepted that," Musharraf said in a nationally televised address.

The Scotland Yard team, he said, "will solve all the confusion" surrounding how Bhutto died last week.

Musharraf expressed his condolences about the killing of Bhutto, who he said "has been martyred by terrorists."

"I understand the tragedy and the sadness and anger it has brought to the People's Party activists and among the Sindhi population," Musharraf said. "I would like to say I personally am very sad and angry about this assassination, and I value the emotions of the nation."
