Dr. Seuss was an artist and a poet. In my opinion this movie is tripe and a pure form of hype. It doesn't portray the feelings or the message of what the good doctor presented. Is it just me or are corporate interest$ being represented here. The original is good enough for me... I hope to be free...and to see... a tree... as it really should be...G:

You're Only Old Once! : A Book for Obsolete Children (1986)
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) delivered this speech on the floor of the Senate, on Monday June 27, 2011.
Mr. President, this is a pivotal moment in the history of our country. In the coming days and weeks, decisions will be made about our national budget that will impact the lives of virtually every American in this country for decades to come.
At a time when the richest people and the largest corporations in our country are doing phenomenally well, and, in many cases, have never had it so good, while the middle class is disappearing and poverty is increasing, it is absolutely imperative that a deficit reduction package not include the disastrous cuts in programs for working families, the elderly, the sick, the children and the poor that the Republicans in Congress, dominated by the extreme right wing, are demanding.
In my view, the President of the United States of America needs to stand with the American people and say to the Republican leadership that enough is enough. No, we will not balance the budget on the backs of working families, the elderly, the sick, the children, and the poor, who have already sacrificed enough in terms of lost jobs, lost wages, lost homes, and lost pensions. Yes, we will demand that millionaires and billionaires and the largest corporations in America contribute to deficit reduction as a matter of shared sacrifice. Yes, we will reduce unnecessary and wasteful spending at the Pentagon. And, no we will not be blackmailed once again by the Republican leadership in Washington, who are threatening to destroy the full faith and credit of the United States government for the first time in our nation’s history unless they get everything they want.

Ray McGovern, Former Sr. CIA Analyst, 'Bruised, Bloodied' While Dragged From Room During Hillary Clinton Speech on 'Freedom of Expression'
We've interviewed former senior CIA analyst Ray McGovern, on the air and off, many times over the years. We've come to consider him not just a source, but a friend and a national hero for his tirelessly non-partisan fight for truth and justice.
The man who once briefed Presidents directly, from Ronald Reagan to Bill Clinton, had long ago earned our great respect --- from his courageousness in famously confronting then-SecDef Don Rumsfeld in 2006 about lying about Saddam and WMD (watch the classic confrontation on video here) to his calling out CNN on air for their abysmal failures in accurately reporting on WikiLeaks (video here) last December to his arrest weeks later at the White House with other vets and national heroes for "refusal to obey a lawful order" while protesting against the Obama Administration's wars around the world --- all while overcoming some enormous personal health issues at the same time.

Although the pharmceutical industries claim that their prices are high because of research and developement, it turns out that Serevent, the main ingredient in the Advaire inhaler, is probably inferior to a new product, Spirivia, that is discussed in the New England Journal of Medicine. The principle ingredient is Tiotropium, a derivitave of Belladonna.
Although the drug was developed in Europe, it will be comparable in price to, the overly expensive, Advaire. The reason, my guess, is, as George Duhbya Bush used to say, that "oceans no longer divide us". Or to put it a little more simply, Boehringer Ingelheim has went into cahoots with Pfizer
Spiriva is an alternative for adult asthmatics, researchers say.
Though some doctors have already been prescribing the drug, meant to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, for asthma, a new study confirms the benefit of such use.
Some physicians have already begun prescribing the drug for asthmatics because of the lack of suitable alternatives, but the new results from a major clinical trial provide a sound underpinning for such uses, experts said.
In particular, the drug is expected to provide an alternative to long-acting beta-agonists, such as Serevent, Advair and Symbicort, which have been shown occasionally to exacerbate asthma symptoms, leading to hospitalization and even death.
A particular strength of Spiriva, known generically as tiotropium bromide, is that its effects last for 24 hours or more, providing long-lasting relief for patients, said Dr. Michael D. Roth, a professor of pulmonary and critical care medicine at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, who was not involved in the research. "It provides daylong relief, so that patients don't have to think about getting in trouble part way through the day," he said.
"When we're desperate, we throw the kitchen sink at patients, and tiotropium does give them some relief," added Dr. Paryus Patel, a pulmonary specialist at Marina Del Rey Hospital who said he already prescribes the drug on occasion. The new study, published online in the New England Journal of Medicine and reported Sunday at a meeting in Barcelona, Spain, of the European Respiratory Society, means that "people who shied away from using this now have an alternative for symptom relief."
(DUBAI, UAE) - Mark Perry in his recent article in Foreign Policy journal "Petraeus wasn't the First," describes succinctly, the opposition to U.S. support for Israel, the rationale for it, and the cover-up on it among American publishers[1].
"It is extremely valuable reading" recommends Alison Weir, the the executive director of IF AMERICANS KNEW, “it corrects misconceptions that so many Americans have on the causation of U.S. support for Israel - including even some who are otherwise well informed on Palestine” she asserts.
Mark Perry is correct in all respects, of course. It is all old history, as he quotes Joe Hoar of reminding him. Yes, please read it... again... but like Joe Hoar correctly said, "What's the news here? Hasn't this been said before?” and hasn’t it all been done before ?
Has man ever learned from history? I think it says something about the nature of Man when you reflect that Einstein said “that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Elements, vital elements, of the US Government have always opposed the concept of a Zionist Israel, ever since State and Defense advised Truman not to sign on... which he did with reservations, qualifications and restricting conditions, which were immediately and have long since been ignored.
But, none of these vital elements of governance, govern the Zionist Corporate controlled US Press, Entertainment, Academic, and Public (Mis)information Media where the grass roots of American public opinion are planted and from which the contentedly uninformed American masses take their opinions and feelings and the corporate and business advertising budgets which drive them. Nor do they control the free-spending lobbies who buy and sell Legislators and Politicians on Capitol Hill with the same ease with which they trade banks and corporations on the Stock Market. Go figure!
This, like, sorry excuse for a human being has an ego bigger than the national deficit. His plans for a teabagger happening by the Lincoln memorial in Washington DC , IMO, should be dealt with in the same way, as the Demonstrators in Saint Paul Minnisota were, by the Bu$h administration. We haven't forgot the cordoned off areas, pepper spray, and rubber bullets used to disrupt any and all dissent against the policies that brought us to war. We haven't forgotton losing our freedom to, what was called, Homeland Security. We had eight years of unprecedented police and military control that prevented demonstrators from being anywhere near what they were demonstrating against and intimidation by police in full riot gear, that often resulted in arrest or injury.
Beck has allied his movement with Dick's Army, Freedom Works, and they are openly planning on bussing people in for the event. People who have no idea of what a demonstration is really about. Teabaggers have no clue about the police state that has been in place during the eight years of the Bu$h regime, and would be totally amazed when confronted by the corporate military complex who Glen Beck really represents.
Essentially, in Bu$hspeak, the enemy would be emboldened by such disrespect for the commander in chief and the demonstrators would have to be cordoned off a couple of blocks away from our national monuments. Needless to mention, Black Water helicopters, Humvee's, and water cannons would have to be in place to cover any eventualities...G%
You CAN handle the Truth There's no nice way to say it. The financial cost of health care is killing our citizens, hobbling our economy, crushing small business, and threatening the solvency of our government. In the meantime, the Health Care Industry is spending almost two million dollars a day lobbying Congress and manipulating public opinion to accept “reform” legislation that leaves a vicious, for-profit system intact. The "public option" is a trap. We need real reform that finds immediate savings, controls costs, and accomplishes the moral imperative of true Universal Access. A Single Payer plan is the only real path to a Health Care System that is socially, ethically and fiscally responsible. And yet, our elected officials refuse to even discuss the possibility of a Single Payer plan!
Health Money & Fear
If you have time this is an excellent presentation about the health care industries and the need for single payer as the only viable solution for universal coverage for the people of this Country.
With just five days left in office, George Duhbya Bu$h signed a nuclear deal with the United Arab Emirates which lies directly across the historical Straights of Hormuz from Iran. Seems that this would be a grave dis-service to our new administration, but, Once More, it is painfully evident that the Corporate Government is still running the show...
Washington, May 21 (DPA) US President Barack Obama has signed off on an agreement authorising the United States to help the United Arab Emirates (UAE) develop nuclear power, the White House announced Wednesday.
The deal was originally agreed in the final days of former president George W. Bush’s term, but was then left to the Obama administration to decide whether to implement the agreement.
"I have determined that the performance of the agreement will promote, and will not constitute an unreasonable risk to, the common defence and security," Obama said in a statement.

Development and deployment of fuel for Russian VVER-1000 nuclear reactors
July 28, 2005 Interview by: Alise Coen
Seth Grae, President of the nuclear fuel and development firm, Thorium Power, Inc., has been working with a group of Russian nuclear engineers, physicists and experts on a project to develop and deploy fuel for the Russian VVER-1000 nuclear reactors. Thorium Power, Inc. was founded in 1992 and began working on a cooperative Initiatives for Proliferation Prevent (IPP) grant project with the Kurchatov Institute in Moscow and the Brookhaven National Laboratory in 1993. The IPP project is supported by a "triangular" relationship of institutes: the US national lab contributes technical assistance to the project, the US industry partners adds commercial expertise and cost-sharing, and the Russian institution offers unique technologies or research capacities. The Project:
By developing and deploying fuel for the Russian VVER-1000 nuclear reactors, the scientists aim to eliminate stockpiles of weapons-grade plutonium and ultimately produce electricity within Russia. VVER is a Russian acronym which stands for "Water modified, Water cooled" Energetic Reactor. The number '1000' indicates that the reactor emits 1,000 megawatts of electricity—enough to power over 1 million homes, according to Grae.
Most of the research and project implementation takes place at the Kurchatov Institute in Moscow. Other activities occur at MSZ Electrostal, which is the largest nuclear fuel manufacturing plant in Russia; the Bochvar Institute, a research institute for inorganic materials; and the Siberian Chemical Combine (SKhK), once known as Tomsk-7, located in the closed nuclear city of Seversk. This project has received three grants from the IPP grant program, totaling $1.5 million. The project has also received an additional $4 million from direct US government appropriations.
This project employs 527 former weapons scientists in Russia, of which 160 are full-time researchers. Many of the Russian scientists formerly built and designed nuclear weapons or weapons technologies for the Soviet Union. A significant proportion of the scientists also produced weapons-grade plutonium. Grae added that, prior to being engaged by the IPP project, many of the Russian scientists designed Russian nuclear reactors and, specifically, the cores for those reactors.
Visiting the Washington Islamic Center to denounce a spate of anti-Muslim violence as "not the America I know," President Bush said that "Islam is peace." Muslims contribute much to the country, Bush said. "The Muslims are doctors, lawyers, law professors, members of the military, entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, moms and dads, and they need to be treated with respect."
Bush appeared at the Islamic Center on September 17 as offenses targeting Muslims in the US appeared to be fueled by suspicions that Muslim fundamentalists orchestrated the terrorist strikes at the World Trade Center.
Lieberman is the name and double cross is the game, but this should be no surprise to anyone who has, for the last eight years, watched this whiney little rat bastich stand up for the corporate government while disguised as a Democrat. That he is still in office, tells me that the corporate government still rules and that Obama, like any other POTUS, is the leader of this country in name only.
Holy Joe wouldn't give up his government health care for any thing, with the exception of maybe the excellent health care system of Israel, for which he qualifies.
Israel, in fact, has a superior health plan to the US. So here we are suffering the Health Care Lies of Lieberman while Israel is still collecting billions of dollars in aid. It was all put in place before Barack, (a good friend to Israel) Obama was officially in office.
U.S. President Barack Obama will not cut the billions of dollars in military aid promised to Israel, a senior U.S. administration official said Wednesday.
The $30 billion in aid promised to Israel over the next decade will not be harmed by the world financial crisis, the official told Israel Radio. He spoke on condition of anonymity.
The Obama Administration however expects the next government of Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu to continue peace negotiations with the Palestinians, he said.
Israel has been a pioneer in the contemporary concept and practice of Public Health and as a result has one of the world’s healthiest populations. The country's success in pursuing effective Public Health policies is reflected in the fact that a nation of immigrants, who have arrived during the past 54 years principally from North Africa, the former Soviet Union and Central Europe, has one of the highest average life expectancies in the world.
This has been accomplished despite the fact that Israel has absorbed Holocaust survivors and a large proportion of immigrants suffering from tuberculosis, malnutrition, heart disease and every type of cancer. At present, 25% of all cancer patients in Israel are newcomers from the former Soviet Union including tens of thousands from parts of the Ukraine and Belorussia who were exposed to radiation from the Chernobyl nuclear plant melt-down in 1987.
According to the Ministry of Health yearbook for 2001, the life expectancy for males (76.6) years) was topped only in Japan. Israeli women live longer than men, but do not fare as well in international statistical comparisons
What is public health?
Whereas medicine treats the health needs of an individual, public health (a discipline also known as public medicine or social medicine) deals with the health requirements of society as a whole. In fact, public health was a more popular concept in the 19th century when physicians realized that matters such as sewage amenities, cleanliness and a balanced diet would improve the health of the population . But as sanitary and dietary conditions improved and with such medical. discoveries as penicillin in the 20th century, much less emphaisis was placed on public health.
International community acknowledges importance of public health
Public health returned to the global agenda in 1975 at the WHO meeting in Alma Ata, Kazakhstan, in the former Soviet Union. Leading health officials from every country in the world signed a covenant proclaiming that the health of the people and the provision of medical services must be the responsibility of national governments. Only the United States refused to sign the covenant, insisting that individuals rather than their governments must be responsible for the provision of health services for themselves and their families.
Of course most nations simply do not have the necessary resources to offer their citizens adequate health services. Even in developed and relatively affluent countries like Israel, the essential challenge facing public health policy is effective distribution of limited resources.
Israel emphasizes public health
The Zionist Movement in pre-state Israel, which combined the traditional Jewish concern for all people with an emphasis on societal needs, regarded public health as a top social, political and economic priority. By the time Israel declared its independence in 1948, a national health infrastructure was already in place. Mother-and-child care centers (Tipot Halav) administered the necessary vaccinations to new-born babies and advised parents on proper care of infants. Health insurance funds (Kupot Holim) offered day-to-day consultations with doctors and specialists, and insured members for hospitalization.
The National Health Insurance Law
Despite Israel's commitment to providing health services for all of its citizens, by the early 90's some six percent of Israelis were not insured through one of the four existing health funds - Kupat Holim Clalit, Maccabi, Me'uhedet and Le'umit. In 1994, the National Health Insurance Law was enacted and it was implemented the following year, rectifying this situation. Since then, all citizens have their health insurance paid by a tax on income (up to 4.8%) while their employer's portion is collected by the National Insurance Institute, and passed on to the health insurance fund of the individual's choice.
National expenditure
Israel's national expenditure on health is typical for a western country. In 1999, the country spent 8.3% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on health, down from a peak of 8.8% in 1994; the United States spent13.6% of its GDP on health care, Canada 9.5%, Japan 6.9% and the UK 7.6%. Of the Israeli expenditure, 41% was for hospitals and research, 39% for public clinics and preventive medicine and 9% for dental care. Israel spent $1,555 per capita on medicine.
