Beirut protest in support of Palestinians
Beirut earmarks $1 million to help Gazans, declares official day of mourning
Daily Star staff
Wednesday, December 31, 2008
BEIRUT: Lebanon's Cabinet said on Tuesday it would donate $1 million to help Palestinians affected by continuing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. "The Cabinet has decided to provide $1 million in immediate assistance to aid the injured and afflicted in Gaza," Information Minister Tarek Mitri told reporters after the ministers met at Baabda Palace for a session presided over by President Michel Sleiman .
The government also announced that it will also launch a drive to raise funds for Gaza relief efforts. In addition, Wednesday was declared a day of national mourning, with flags at state institutions to be flown at half-mast.
Mitri stressed the "necessity of lifting the blockade against Gaza and ensuring access of medical and humanitarian assistance to the wounded."
The news came as Israel bombed Gaza for a fourth day in a row. A medical official in the enclave said at least 368 Palestinians, including more than 50 civilians, had been killed in the raids.

Witnessing the Decay of Western Hegemony

Well, at this point in history it's obvious that Democracy no longer exists, not only in the countries where Bu$hco unilaterally promoted it by false war, but also here at home. We have lost our honor, our treasure, our freedoms, and even our cool, all because of leadership that doesn't represent the people.
We stand here today to see the Zionist's once more pounding the folks in Gaza with only casual mention by our government, while sadly,
Obama tells us that he supports Israel in Gazaas he supported Israel in Lebanon.
Witnessing the Decay of Western Hegemony
“As liberal democratic capitalism comes to an end, the only option for western society to liberate itself from the chains of its ruling elites is to confront them through organized non-violent actions. It must be the role of the organic intellectual, to promote this path and educate the oppressed about its benefits, while proposing effective methods of direct communal action.”

While the military might of the world’s leading nations continues to expand, it has become apparent that western colonialism is abruptly coming to an end, yet the consequences are still not clear to any of the pundits traditionally involved in the discourse which has helped to build it. For many decades in the west, we have thrived on imperial expansion led by the United States of America and its allies, and legitimized by international bodies such as the International Monetary Fund, The World Bank and the United Nations. Today, this oligopoly of world domination is rapidly deteriorating and what only a few months ago seemed like the only option for humanity is today being severely put to the test. The organic intellectual must face these challenging times by offering viable alternatives to society so that a new world order can emerge out of the rubble left behind by liberal democratic capitalism.

Business as usual as Israel retaliates in Gaza
Business as usual as Israeli F-16's bomb Gaza just days after a truce with Hamas expired. The Gaza Strip is a sliver of towns, villages and farmland at the southeast end of the Mediterranean, 25 miles long and 6 miles wide and heavily populated with Palestinians who have left Israel and the West Bank.
Massive Israeli air raids on Gaza
BBC News Saturday, 27 December 2008
Israeli F-16 bombers have pounded key targets across the Gaza Strip, killing more than 200 people, local medics say.
Most of those killed were policemen in the Hamas militant movement, which controls Gaza, but women and children also died, the Gaza officials said.
About 700 others were wounded, as missiles struck security compounds and militant bases, the officials said.
Israel said it was responding to an escalation in rocket attacks from Gaza and would bomb "as long as necessary".
They were the heaviest Israeli attacks on Gaza for decades. More air raids were launched as night fell.
The operation came days after a truce with Hamas expired.

One killed as Kassams rain on Negev
In Ashkelon, at least 10 rocket strikes were reported, with one hitting an apartment building.
For the first time ever, a Kassam rocket struck Kiryat Gat. The "Color Red" warning siren also sounded in Ashdod, although the location of a rocket strike had yet to be reported.
Nobody was hurt in any of the other attacks.
Israeli citizens living within a 20-kilometer radius of Gaza were ordered to remain indoors as Kassam warning systems blasted throughout the area.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak issued an order declaring a "Special Situation in the Home Front" which essentially transfers civil authority over villages and towns within the area to the IDF. This order grants the IDF the authority to order the closure of factories and schools if needed as well as to assist the local councils to continue functioning despite the rocket attacks.

Shoes of Dignity

By VOA News
17 December 2008
A Saudi Arabian man has offered $10 million for the shoes of an Iraqi journalist hurled at U.S. President George Bush in Baghdad Sunday.
Middle Eastern news agencies reported on Mohamed Makhafa's offer Wednesday. He is quoted telling Cairo's al-Safwa Television that the footwear hurled at the U.S. president's head is the "shoe of dignity" with high "moral value."
Meanwhile, Reuters news agency reports that an Egyptian man is offering his 20-year-old daughter in marriage to the shoe-thrower, Muntazer al-Zaidi.
Reuters reports the young woman Amal Saad Gumaa said she likes the idea of being attached to a man she finds so honorable.
Thousands of Iraqis have taken to the streets in support of Zaidi, who has achieved something of a folk hero status since the incident.
The shoe-tossing has also inspired an online game (www.SockAndAwe.com) that lets players throw brown laced-loafers at Mr. Bush. The site says more than 17 million cyber-shoes have struck the president's virtual head as of Wednesday.
Zaidi threw one shoe, then the other, at President Bush during a joint news conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Sunday. Mr. Bush ducked as each shoe narrowly missed hitting his head.
After throwing the first shoe, al-Zaidi yelled that it was a "farewell kiss" for Mr. Bush, whom he called a "dog."
Security officials took Zaidi out of the room, as other Iraqi journalists apologized. President Bush shrugged off the incident and said he never felt threatened.

You can throw your own shoes at Duhbya right here...(:

In his latest column Ron Paul warns of dire consequences if we do not get back on a sustainable economic course in this country.
Economic Freedom or Socialist Intervention?
by Ron Paul
The freedom to fail is an essential part of freedom. Government-provided financial security necessitates relinquishing the very essence of freedom. Last week, the big 3 American automakers came back to Capitol Hill with their hands out to the government. Congress spent this past week debating how much money to give them and what strings should be attached. Though the bailout plan for the auto industry has suffered what I would call a temporary setback in the Senate, other avenues for public funding are being explored through the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department. I am afraid the American auto industry will soon learn that having billions rain down from Washington will not be the blessing one might expect.
The government, after it subsidizes an industry, tends to become a very demanding benefactor. Politicians may not have any real idea about how to build a car, run a bank, educate a child, heal the sick or build a road, but they are quite adept at using carrots and sticks to manipulate and threaten those who do. Most of the federal control over education, roads, healthcare, and now banking and soon auto manufacturing, is done through money, mandates and conditions. The bailout proposal we were considering would force automobile manufacturers to submit their business plans for the approval of a new federal “car czar.” This bureaucrat would have the authority to approve the automakers’ restructuring plan, monitor implementation of the plan, and even stop certain transactions he determines are inconsistent with the companies’ long-term viability.
One could argue that if billions of taxpayer dollars are going to flow into a failing industry, then representatives of those taxpayers have “bought” a say in how that industry is run - which is precisely why bailouts are such a bad idea for both the industry and the taxpayers. The federal government has neither the competence nor the Constitutional authority to tell private companies, such as automakers, how to run their businesses. I would have thought that failed experiments with central planning and government control of business that caused so much harm in the last century would have taught my colleagues the folly of making businesses obey politicians and bureaucrats instead of heeding the wishes of consumers, employees, and stockholders. But the auto industry is in danger of learning for themselves one of the oldest lessons in politics: he who pays the fiddler calls the tune.
It is not the job of government to sustain business. The government should get out of the way, and instead examine excessive regulations, tax policy and red tape that have been hostile to manufacturing in this country. We should get back on a sustainable economic course in this country, or we are doomed to collapse, as the Soviets did, under the crushing burden of big government and a strangled economy that can no longer pay for it.

Artist James W Johnson: Styles & Isms
Well, these idiotic idiologues wont be around much longer, (holding breath), so here is another viewpoint of the vermin that will hopefully be going down the road. The Neocons have always been weird in that they all say their official spiel over and over, and have the MSM as a platform from which their evil rhetoric can be broadcasted. Not only do they speak with one voice, but they exhibit the same persona as they do so as can be seen in this .VIDEO..G:
Johnson is an artist that when introduced to the computer began to develop a whole new way of using photo shop, with video presentations that gives what I might call expressionism. Juust kidding...James really doesn't adhere to isms, styles, or conformity in general, butt , C 4 Urs elf.And now for something completely different

I began my study of 9-11-01 when the local paper, the Fargo Forum, called me at home early in the after noon of 9-11-01. The reporter talk about 40 minutes then asked if I could be photographed for a front page story. The Fargo Forum, a Pullitzer Prize winning daily in Fargo ND, sent a photo guy out to my farm near Glyndon MN 13 miles east of Fargo ND. I have that front page and page A5 [rest of the story and can email it to you]. On 9-12-01 the headline was "Our National Saw Evil" with photo of rubble, Osama, GW and me. That demonstrates clearly that I was sought as an "expert" on 9-11. The newspaper knew that I had flown with and retired from the ND ANG as a L/C after having flown 16 years with them in the F4 Phantom and F16 Falcon.
My interested has remained high as my college classmate, [ USNA 71 ] was the Captain of AA77 which was vaporized over the Atlantic 45 minutes prior to the unmanned aerial vehicle that killed another USNA alum, Capt Gerald DeConto whose window the object flew into. I felt strongly on 9-11 it was an inside job, and by 9-12-01 I knew with a moderate degree of certainty that it, infact, was.

Blogging on Arthur Scheuermans Blog
This is Arthur Scheuerman with Pomaroo and Gravy, self proclaimed debunkers, from The James Randy Foundation "JREF". Arthur now has a blog which he started in August 2008 called Why the 9/11 buildings collapsed.
This is the same Arthur Scheuerman that is going around to all the blogs to copy/paste his irrelevent tripe. He wrote a book, "Fire in the Skyscraper" which goes out of the way to promote the oficial government story. I met him on Suzie-Q's blog where I am one of the posters, where he pasted some long winded comments on my article called Architects & Engineersfor 9/11 Truth! This was in Aug. 2007. On November 8, 2007 I posted "Who is Arthur Scheuerman", with an ongoing commentary that Arthur commented on untill November 8, 2007.
Here are a few more articles on Suzie-Q's that concern Arthur Scheuerman.

NIST's analysis of freefall speed vs David Chandler
WTC7: NIST Finally Admits Freefall (Part I)

In its draft report, released in August 2008, NIST attempted to cover up evidence that WTC7 fell at freefall, but the coverup was transparent. In its final report, released in November 2008, NIST finally acknowledged freefall, but couched it in a bizarre framework that continues to deny its clear significance.
WTC7 in Freefall--No Longer Controversial
BREAKING NEWS--NEW NIST ANALYSIS ACKNOWLEDGES FREEFALL FOR WTC7
NIST has reversed its earlier denial of freefall and acknowledged a period of freefall comparable to this analysis in their final report on WTC7 released in November 2008. They did their own measurement with a point near the center of the roof line and came up with an acceleration of 9.81 for approximately 2.25 sec. Their report did not, however, face the consequences of this acknowledgment: that ALL RESISTANCE was instantaneously removed across the width of the building, supporting pre-planted explosives as the cause of the collapse.
Contrary to the August 2008 NIST report on WTC7, the acceleration of Building 7 is measured and is found to be indistinguishable from the acceleration of gravity over a period of about 2.5 seconds of fall.
During the first round of questions in the Aug 26, 2008 NIST Technical Briefing (at 1:01:45 into the presentation) the following question was asked by David Chandler:
"Any number of competent measurements using a variety of methods indicate the northwest corner of WTC 7 fell with an acceleration within a few percent of the acceleration of gravity. Yet your report contradicts this, claiming 40% slower than freefall based on a single data point. How can such a public, visible, easily measurable quantity be set aside?"
Dr. Shyam Sunder replies:
"Could you repeat the question?"
[the question is repeated by the moderator, leaving out the word, "competent" as well as the last sentence]
"Well...um...the...first of all gravity...um...gravity is the loading function that applies to the structure...um...at...um...applies....to every body...every...uh...on...all bodies on...ah...on...um... this particular...on this planet not just...um...uh...in ground zero...um...the...uh...the analysis shows a difference in time between a free fall time, a free fall time would be an object that has no...uh... structural components below it. And if you look at the analysis of the video it shows that the time it takes for the...17...uh...for the roof line of the video to collapse down the 17 floors that you can actually see in the video below which you can't see anything in the video is about...uh... 3.9 seconds. What the analysis shows...and...uh...the structural analysis shows, the collapse analysis shows that same time that it took for the structural model to come down from the roof line all the way for those 17 floors to disappear is...um... 5.4 seconds. It's...uh..., about one point...uh...five seconds or roughly 40% more time for that free fall to happen. And that is not at all unusual because there was structural resistance that was provided in this particular case. And you had...you had a sequence of structural failures that had to take place and everything was not instantaneous."
Note that:
--He acknowledges that freefall can only occur if there is no structure under the falling section of the building.
--He acknowledges that their structural modeling predicts a fall slower than freefall.
--He acknowledges that there was structural resistance in this particular case.
--He acknowledges that there was a sequence of failures that had to take place and that this process was not instantaneous.
Thus, he acknowledges that their model is at variance with the observable fact that freefall actually occurred. Their response is to hold to their model, deny that freefall occurred, and put up a smokescreen of irrelevant measurements that obscure the reality.

Study shows battery-electric vehicle's and hydrogen fuel call vehicles Best Options

Study Concludes Wind-Powered BEV and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles Best Options, Biofuels the Worst to Address Climate, Energy Security and Pollution

Jacobsonrank
A new study by Stanford University professor Mark Jacobson (earlier post) reviews and ranks major proposed energy-related solutions to global warming, air pollution, and energy security while considering impacts of the solutions on eleven different factors ranging from resource availability to mortality. To place electricity and liquid fuel options on an equal footing, Jacobson considered 12 combinations of energy sources and vehicle type: nine electric power sources (solar-PV, CSP, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, wave, tidal, nuclear, and coal with CCS) and two liquid fuel options (corn-E85, cellulosic E85) in combination with three vehicle technologies (battery-electric, BEVs; hydrogen fuel cell, HFCVs; and flex-fuel E85 vehicles).
The overall rankings of the combinations (from best to worst) were: (1) wind-powered battery-electric vehicles (BEVs); (2) wind-powered hydrogen fuel cell vehicles; (3) concentrated-solar-powered-BEVs; (4) geothermal-powered-BEVs; (5) tidal-powered-BEVs; (6) solar-photovoltaic-powered-BEVs; (7) wave-powered-BEVs; (8) hydroelectric-powered-BEVs; (9-tie) nuclear-powered-BEVs; (9-tie) coal-with-carbon-capture-powered-BEVs; (11) corn-E85 vehicles; and (12) cellulosic-E85 vehicles. His findings are published online in an open access article in the journal Energy & Environmental Science.

Ex-ISI Chief Gul calls 9/11 An Inside Job
Kudos to Global Evildoer Fighterfor this info...G:

Paul Joseph Watson...Wednesday, December 10, 2008
Former Pakistani ISI chief Hamid Gul appeared on the Alex Jones Show yesterday and shared his contention that the 9/11 attack was an inside job, laying out details that were censored during a CNN interview on the same subject last weekend.
Gul served as the director general of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence during 1987-89 and worked with the CIA in the covert war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, helping to train the U.S.-backed mujahideen.
During the CNN interview on Sunday, host Fareed Zakaria attacked Gul and claimed his opinions on 9/11 were “thoroughly discredited,” but the majority of the evidence he presented for 9/11 being a false flag attack was edited out by CNN bosses.
No such censorship took place during the interview yesterday as Gul got in depth on why he considered 9/11 to be a staged event.
Gul said that he first went public on who he thought was behind 9/11 UPI two weeks after the attacks, but that the report was blocked by the western news media.

Gender Benders & the evolution of species

Well folks, it's time to take a deep breath and go sit on the beach somewhere to reflect on what's happening to life on Planet Earth. According to scientific studies the sex characteristics of vertebrate life are evolving toward a unisex condition. This at a time when science is making breakthroughs in genetic engineering and the human genome has been mapped. We are now eating genetically engineered food, both animal and vegetable, and at the same time ingesting a plethora of chemical compounds that are saturating the environment. I have a feeling that if Charles Darwin were around today, he would be doing a whole lot of documenting, and would probably come up with a new theory. The theory of degeneration.
It's official: Men really are the weaker sex
Evolution is being distorted by pollution, which damages genitals and the ability to father offspring, says new study.
Geoffrey Lean reports
Sunday, 7 December 2008
The male gender is in danger, with incalculable consequences for both humans and wildlife, startling scientific research from around the world reveals.
The research – to be detailed tomorrow in the most comprehensive report yet published – shows that a host of common chemicals is feminising males of every class of vertebrate animals, from fish to mammals, including people.

Backed by some of the world's leading scientists, who say that it "waves a red flag" for humanity and shows that evolution itself is being disrupted, the report comes out at a particularly sensitive time for ministers. On Wednesday, Britain will lead opposition to proposed new European controls on pesticides, many of which have been found to have gender bending effects.
It also follows hard on the heels of new American research which shows that baby boys born to women exposed to widespread chemicals in pregnancy are born with smaller penises and feminised genitals.
"This research shows that the basic male tool kit is under threat," says Gwynne Lyons, a former government adviser on the health effects of chemicals, who wrote the report.
Wildlife and people have been exposed to more than 100,000 new chemicals in recent years, and the European Commission has admitted that 99 per cent of them are not adequately regulated. There is not even proper safety information on 85 per cent of them.

Obama's Windfall Taxes Shift: First Broken Promise?
Huffington Post
December 3, 2008 05:30 PM
The Obama team's decision to drop the idea of forcing oil and natural gas companies to pay a tax on their windfall profits has caused a firestorm among liberals and small business coalitions.
As first reported in the Houston Chronicle, Obama's reference to a windfall profits tax, which he articulated during the campaign at a time of skyrocketing gas prices, had been removed from the transition team's Website, change.gov:
The Guardian Friday April 25 2008
Obama proposed "a windfall profits penalty" on oil selling at or over $80 per barrel. He would invest revenue from the tax in a federal weatherisation, and in programmes to help low- and middle-income Americans pay heating and cooling bills.
He also called for "increased transparency" in oil markets, for an end to tax breaks for oil and gas companies, and said the US should cease purchasing oil for its strategic reserve.

Will Bu$hco answer to war Crimes?
What's an Attorney General to do?
Will Eric Holder uphold the Constitution on his watch? The Bush administration should be held accountable for war crimes, and it is well known that the majority of the people want justice.
In a June speech to the American Constitution Society, Holder said the Bush administration had taken many steps that
"were both excessive and unlawful" in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Holder was an achiever both academically and as a basketball player.
Obama and Holder have yet to play on the court, but they are both pretty good players. It will be interesting to see their game...G:
Wikipedia:
In late 2007, Holder joined then-United States Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign as a senior legal advisor. He served on Obama's vice presidential selection committee.
Holder's political views are broadly in line with Obama's. Holder favors closing the controversial Guantanamo Bay detention camp. He is opposed to the Bush Administration's implementation of the Patriot Act, saying it is "bad ultimately for law enforcement and will cost us the support of the American people." He has been critical of US torture policy and the NSA warrantless surveillance program, calling the Bush administration's "disrespect for the rule of law [...] not only wrong, it is destructive in our struggle against terrorism."
On December 1, 2008, Obama announced that Holder would be his nominee for Attorney General. If the Senate confirms him, he will be the first African-American Attorney General.

My late friend and mentor I.F. Stone spent his career devouring public documents—the congressional record, government reports, debates, meetings—to get all of the news his more consensus-minded colleagues found of little import.
If Izzy was alive today, he might have spent some time with Section 1076 of the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007. And knowing Izzy, he would have paused just a few paragraphs into the $500 billion, 591-page bill as he noticed that it happen to undermine a centuries-old tenet of American law: the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which restricts the president’s ability to deploy the Army inside the United States.
Before the bill passed, the president could deploy troops inside the United States only if he invoked the Insurrection Act of 1807, which allows for deployment only “to suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy.” The new law expands the list to include “natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition”—and such a “condition” is not defined or limited.
Lo and behold, President Bush has done just this, deploying an entire brigade from Iraq for domestic activities inside the United States. The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has, since October 1st, been under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force. Yet the mainstream media has raised nary an eyebrow at this striking expansion of presidential power taken in defiance of centuries of legal precedent—yet another in a series so large as to defy calculation.
